The flying PISPOT
This years competition held on the 27-27 November saw 13 teams compete for the title. The had a touch of drama when in the second round a thunder storm knocked out the power on Saturday so the day was a loss. Not to be deterred all the teams returned on Sunday, and a modified round robin competition was played of cut throat doubles as there was not enough time to play singles and finish early enough for the visiting team to return home at a reasonable hour.

Mens League finals 2022
This year has been one of the best final seasons. All the teams that participated in the finals round the outcomes could have gone either way they were so close. The final battle ended being between Darkside and Spartans with Darkside taking out the championship which made it three in a row. Spartans were unlucky in the last two games their players just missed their pegouts and Darkside did not give them a second chance. The matches just kept everyone on the edge, congratulations to both teams on their effort until next year.

LADIES LEAGUE FINALS 2022
The Ladies League finals were held on the 19th October with the final going down to the last game. Outsiders were just that little bit stronger winning the teams game and taking out the match 6 wins to Lady Dingos 5 wins. Both teams were even after the first four matches, Lady Dingos the won the next two matches. Outsiders fought back winning the the next match, Lady Dingos won the next match and Outsiders again did a come back making it 50 all leaving the teams game to be the decider. Both teams played well and congratulations to Wendy as this was her first participation in a Grand Final win.

One team went went to this years Dot Voakes comprising of Khaliah Anderson,Karen Fridd, Ashlee Hoare, Jess Riggs and Jayne Whalan. They performed well coming 3rd. The winning team was LDASA Team 1 and the South East Darts Association coming second.

Two Pirie teams attended this years George Kelly Competition at Kadina which was won by the Pissheads, Scott Hallet, Dan Tuckwell, Damo Rivett and Zaine Skelton. Runner ups were Shots 1, George Creasy, Mark Carter, Xavier Carter and Mark Campbell.
Our team Pirie Black whose players were Brodie Baker, Brad Evans, Daniel Lill and Robert Pinder came 3rd winning 8 of 11 games. The second team Pirie White came 5th, the players were Corey Lambert, William Hilton, Dillan Moore and Anthony Whalan.

Annie Raymond memorial 2022
Kadina Dart Club held the annual Annie Raymond Memorial on the 18-19 June, a total of seven teams took part in the competition. Two ladies teams traveled to Kadina to take part with Pirie 1 were this years runner-ups behind the winners LADASA 1. The Pirie team whose players were Jayne Whalan, Jess Riggs, Karen Fridd and Tania McCourt were only two legs behind the winners.
Pirie 2 whose players were Khaliah Anderson, Chelsea Anderson, Julie Roberts and Ashlee Hoare came equal fourth with LDASA2.

Port Pirie's annual Brian Clark memorial was held on 11-13 June saw 13 ladies teams competing for the championship, 60 players took part.
Ladies Darts Association SA-1 whose players were Vanessa Bridge, Lyn Morrison, Laura Fuller and Abbey Morrison won the competition making it two in a row.
The highest peg out was 119 thrown by Jess Riggs (Port Pirie), most peg outs were by Vanessa Bridge.
Unfortunately some of the teams had players withdraw due to Covid, as a result the teams were reduced from 6 players to 4 players and the playing format was 2 doubles, 2 reverse doubles and a teams game, single legs per game. After a successful competition the players voted and decided to continue the competition as four aside.

Ladies single competition was held on the Monday. For the second year running the championship final was played between Alicia Ritchie and Vanessa Bridge, Vanessa got her revenge defeating Alicia 5-4 after another hard fought battle, it was truly a final worth watching.

The Country Darts Championship was held on 11- 13 June hosted by the Kadina Dart Club. Murray Bridge Dart Club successfully won the trophy. There were 90 competitors who took part in the competition.

IRON Triangle 2022
The Iron Triangle competition was held on the 07 May 2022 at the Central Augusta Football & Community Social Club. The club managed to put together teams for the competition even after players being forced to drop out due to the covid doing the rounds and the help of some fill-in players.
The ladies won their section. In the Mens competition Port Augusta was first, Whyalla was second and Pirie came third.
Pirie was the overall winner of the competition. All in all it was a good effort by our players who attended the competition.

Two Pirie ladies teams went to the Annie Raymond Competition, Pirie White and Pirie Black.
Team Members of Pirie White were Karen Fridd, Wendy Kumer, Jess Riggs and Jayne Whalan. They had 5 wins and 2 losses coming 5th. Best Player was Jess with 9 peg outs and 5 hundreds. Port Pirie tried their best to retain the Cup after holding it for three years, but could not quite make over the line were the runner-ups.

bRIAN cLARK mEMORIAL
The Brian Clark Memorial saw eleven ladies team compete for the title over the June long weekend with the event being held at the Solomontown Football Club rooms due to the Country Darts being played in Pirie on the same weekend.
The Ladies Darts Association of South Australia, No 1 team took out the title, with Whyalla coming a close second.
Highest pegout for the weekend was 110 thrown by Wendy Sherwin (Port Pirie).
Singles championship was won by Alicia Ritchie (Northern Districts) who played of against Vanessa Bridge (LDASA 1) winning 3-2.

2021 COBaR open
The Cobar open was held on the 21-23 May and a group of Pirie players comprising of Brad Evans, Graeme Fridd, Karen Fridd, Sid Fridd, Asha Gurd, Robert Hargans, Will Hilton, Daniel Lill, Bob Pinder, Brayden Sperling competed in the competition.
Daniel Lill won the Men's Singles playing of against Steve Motton in a close contest that could have gone either way with the final score of 6 games to 5 being best of 11. Bob Pinder was the only other Mens singles player to go through to the play offs bowing out in the quarter finals. Karen Fridd was the runner up in the Ladies Singles. The Ladies Doubles was won by Karen Fridd and Asha Gurd with a final score of 5 games to 1 being the best of 9 games. In the Men's Doubles Graeme Fridd and Brayden Sperling teamed up going through to play in the finals only to be out done by the opposition who won by 6 games to 5 being the best 11 games. Daniel Lill and Bob Pinder made it through to the quarter finals before bowing out. Men's highest peg out was taken out by Daniel Lill with peg of 142. 2021 iron triangle Competition
Pirie had a clean sweep at the Iron Triangle taking out both the Mens and Ladies Teams Competition for the third year in a road, with Port Augusta 2nd and Whyalla 3rd.
It was a good effort by Pirie as it was the first time a men's team has one the event three consecutive years, and as a club been the overall winner for three consecutive years.

The Men's Doubles Championship was held on the 12 May with 26 members participating.
The finals were played by Andrew Pinder and Brayden Sperling against the partnership of Shannon Patterson and Dion Patterson. Andy and Brayden triumphed taking it our 6 games to 2 being the best of 11 games.

2021 Danny o'dea Mens Singles Championship
The Men's Singles Championship was held on 06 May. There was a strong field of competitors with some very close matches during the night.
The top player from each board was to play offs resulting in Shannon Patterson vs Andy Pinder and Brayden Sperling vs Bob Pinder. Shannon and Brayden went through to play the finals, with Shannon being victorious taking it out 6 games to 1. There were eleven 180's thrown during the competition, Shannon Patterson (5), Brayden Sperling (3) , Andy Pinder, Michael Goode and Brodie Baker (1) each. |

The ladies competition was held by the Whyalla Ladies Darts over the weekend of the 27-28 February.
Port Pirie team this year comprised of Karen Fridd, Wendy Sherwin, Khaliah Anderson and Jayne Whalan. Eleven teams competed with Whyalla Pink winning the competition, the Port Pirie team performed well this year being the runner ups. 2020 Mens League finals
The grand final was played on the 11 December 2020.
The match was one of the closest for some time and went to the very last game to determine the winner. Mixtures held the lead after the doubles and carried it through to end of the first round of singles. Through the second round of singles Darkside fought back until both team were level on 7 games each. This put pressure was on Brayden Sperling (Darkside) opposing Ross Sinfield (Mixtures) to determine the outcome in the last game. Darkside came out the winners with 8 games to Mixtures 7 games. |
2020 COVID OPEN
On the 04 November the COVID open was held at the club were a board round robin was played with the top two of each group going through to the finals.
The championship was taken out by Daniel Lill who defeated Peter "Fluff" Vanlaarhoven 3 games to 1. Highest pegouts were thrown by Jess Riggs 50 (Ladies) and Brad Evans 114 (Mens). |
2020 CAROL VEArT memorial
The Carol Veart Memorial was held on the 22 - 23 February in Whyalla.
Pirie ladies came 3rd in a very close race for the trophy. Kadina come out on top with LDASA being runner ups. The top three won the same number of game and the positions were determined with a count back on legs. There was only 4 legs difference between 1st an 3rd positions.

Elsie Lane Memorial Monday Competition knock out was won by The Units (3) who defeated Razorback (0).
Connie Conradi Shield Ladies league knock out was won by Outsiders (3) who defeated Lady Dingos (2)
Merv Prior Memorial Shield for the mens league knock out was won by Mixtures (3) who defeated Razorbacks (2).
Razorbacks won 2 singles games with Mixtures winning 1 singles game leaving the match to be decided by playing two triple matches. It was not Razorbacks day as Mixtures took out the two triples to take home the shield.
Elsie Lane Memorial Monday Competition knock out was won by The Units (3) who defeated Razorback (0).

2020 SEASON START
The new season is about to start with the knock out shield competitions on the 10 February Elsie Lane Mixed Fours team knock out shield, 12th with the Connie Codradi ladies team knock out shield and on 14th the Merv Prior Mens team knock out shield being played.
All members are reminded they are required to have paid their memberships to participate in these championships.
Fees have remained the same as last year.
Also members be aware the changes made to the participation rules for the Friday Mens League permitting ladies to compete in this competition in any of the League teams. For further information contact the Mens Club captain Brad Evans

2019 bARRY CRAWFORD OPEN
Saturday 12 October saw the doubles played which commenced with the Mixed doubles in the morning session, followed by the Ladies and Mens doubles in the afternoon. There was a great turn out for all the competitions.
The Mixed doubles was a double life knock-out with Andy Pinder and Rebekah Promnitz winning the first round and Brayden Sperling and Khaliah Anderson taking out he second life. In the final play off Brayden and Khaliah were triumphant to take out the title.
In the afternoon saw the Mens and Ladies Doubles played out with a board round robins. The mens played four groups in the round robin with the to two of each group going through to the knock outs. The eventual winners were taken out by the partnership of Scott Hallett and Michael Powell.

2019 mixed fours championship
Mixed fours championship was held on the 23 August with seven teams trying out for the honours.
The playing format was Double Life playing the best of five teams games, the team comprising of Andy Pinder, Bek Promnitz, Bob Pinder and Sandra Promnitz took out both lives to go straight through as out right champions. This left team two teams to play for runners up. The team with Tristan Angel, Jenna Angel, Brayden Sperling and Asha Gurd out lasted the challengers of Will Hilton, Margaret King, John Nottage and Josie Sellen.

2019 Dot voakes competition
The weekend of the 17/18 August was the Dot Voakes competition our ladies team comprising of Chelsea Anderson, Karen Fridd, Jayne Whalan, Khaliah Anderson attended the competition taking out third spot.
The team won 10 of the 13 games played but were out ranked by Kadina (team1) in first position and the Ladies Darts Association of South Australia (team 1) taking out the second position.
Both Chelsea and Jayne threw a 180, Karen and Jayne both had the highest number of peg outs 14 each but Chelsea with 13 pegs and Khaliah with 12 pegs were right up there with them.
The team stats won 4/3 against South East Ladies 1, lost 3/4 against SLDA, won 5/2 against Kadina 1, lost 1/6 against LDASA1. won 4/3 against NACDA 1, won 5/2 against Whyalla, lost 3/4 against LDASA 2, won 7/0 Southeast Ladies 2, won 5/2 against ACDA, won 4/3 against LDASA 3, won 6/1 against NSDC, won 6/1 against Kadina 2.

2019 Mixed Doubles Championship
The 2019 Mixed doubles championship was held on the 12 July. Seventeen pairs competed in the which came down to a nail biter finish between the partnership of Andy Pinder & Rebecca Promnitz against the partnership of Brayden Sperling & Khaliah Anderson.
Brayden and Khaliah excelled in winning the championship best of nine legs. They were down four legs to one and looked as if it was all over in favour of Andy & Bek. Brayden & Khaliah fought back winning the following four legs to take out the championship 5/4.
Congratulations to Brayden and Khaliah on there win. It should be noted that Khaliah is one of the clubs up and coming juniors. A well deserved victory which will encourage her it the upcoming State Competitions.

The Ladies Singles Championship was held of the 10 July.
The final eight were contested between Karen Fridd vs Kim Dorber, Jenna Angel vs Asha Gurd, Khaliah Anderson vs Jayne Whalan, Elaine Hoare vs Ashlee Hoare. Karen, Jenna, Khaliah and Elaine went through to the Semi-finals. Semi final playoffs being the best of five games were between Karen vs Jenna, and Khaliah vs Elaine. Jenna defeated Karen while Elaine took out the match against Khaliah. The grand final saw Elaine take out the championship in the best of seven playoff with Jenna. This will make the 10th Ladies singles championship taken out by Elaine. Well Done!!!. |
2019 Mens Association doubles Championship
Mens Association Doubles Championship for 2019 was held on the 5th July with 14 pairs participating in the competition.
The doubles combinations of Dion & Shannon Patterson, Jason Morgan & Bob Pinder progressed through the semi-finals, to play off for the title in best of seven leg 601 play off for the title. Jason & Bob took the lead winning the first three legs in a row, Dion & Shannon pick up the pace taking out the next three legs. After a hard fought battle with both teams on pegout, Jason & Bob prevailed in taking out the deciding leg. Fourteen 180's were thrown Andy Pinder (4), Jason Morgan (2), Brayden Sperling, Daniel Lill, Brayden Sperling, Brodie Baker, Brad Evans, Dion Patterson, Graeme Fridd, Scott Thomas all threw one each. Congratulations to Jason and Bob for their win making it two in a row. |
2019 Mens Association Singles Championship
The Mens Association Singles Championship for 2019 was held on the 27th June.
Congratulations to Shannon Patterson for taking out the competition in a best of seven play of with Andy Pinder who was the runner up. The battle resulted the final score being Shannon 4 legs to Andy's 2 legs. The top four finalists where Ralph Mudge who was defeated by Shannon and John Nottage who was defeated by Andy Pinder, both semi finalists challenged their opponents with some great darts. A total of ten 180's were thrown, Ashley Sperling (2), Andy Pinder (4), Graeme Fridd (2), Shannon Patterson (2) and Barry Freer scored the only 171 for the night. 2019 ANNIE raymond
The Kadina Dart Club held their invitational Ladies team competition on the 22-23 June. Thirteen teams participated in the competition with Kadina Red taking out the honours.
Pirie entered two teams in the competition, Pirie White whose team members where Elaine Hoare, Wendy Sherwin, Jess Riggs and Karen Fridd. Pirie Black team members were Kim Dorber, Khaliah Anderson, Jade Nottage, Julie Roberts and Dawn Carroll.
Pire White performed well coming 2nd, winning 11 of the 13 matches. Elaine had 16 pegs, Wendy 12 pegs, Karen 14 pegs and Jess 11 pegs.
Pirie Black came 12th, winning 3 matches. Kim had 9 pegs, Jade 7 pegs, Khaliah 6 pegs Julie and Dawn both had 3 pegouts.

2019 Cobar open
The Cobar Darts Association held their annual Open Competition that commenced on the 17 May 2019.
Several members of the Port Pirie Darts Association made the long journey to compete. The Mens Doubles event had 13 team competing Brayden Sperling and John Nottage teamed up to defeat Brendon Porter and Jeremy Jackson both from NSW.
In the Ladies Single Karen Fridd took out the title after a battle with Riannon Kerr NSW. The Mens Singles was less successful with Steve Motton NSW defeating Aaron Parmenter.
Several members of the Port Pirie Darts Association made the long journey to compete. The Mens Doubles event had 13 team competing Brayden Sperling and John Nottage teamed up to defeat Brendon Porter and Jeremy Jackson both from NSW.

2018 cobar open
The Open was held on the weekend 1-3 June the Port Pirie Club members travelled to participate in the competition.
Graeme Fridd and John Nottage competed in the Mens Singles. There were 16 players competing in the Mens Singles after passing through three qualifying rounds, John Nottage came up against Raymond O'Donnell in the grand final who came out the victor. Raymond had an average score 24.658 and John had 21.872.
